We stock a range of quality carpets from well known manufactures such as Brintons, Zoffany, Westex and Ryalux. 

The best known types are AXMINSTER carpets (large or small designs where many different colours can be used together) or WILTON carpets (Often associated with fine dense velvets but also the first choice where sharp definition of design is required with limited range of different colours).

The two main methods of carpet making are WEAVING or TUFTING.  Arguably the slower woven method produces stronger carpet while the high speed tufting machines certainly produce very affordable material.

TUFTING is a relatively modern method used principally for making twist carpets or velvet pile plain carpets on fixed width machines. PASS or HAND tufting are two techniques that allow relativley small quantities of individually selected colours and qualities be made to room shapes at very reasonable prices.

WEAVING, a technique stretching back to the dawn of time used first to make cloth, then rugs, was first mechanised by the Victorians for carpet making.
